Detailed Description

Traction Point is a vehicular, physics-driven, puzzle/exploration game. Embark on a sci-fi road trip together with your crew in the campaign, or experiment and play around in the sandbox mode.

Experience the joy of driving as you explore wide open fields, drive along cliff edges, investigate industrial complexes and research stations, pass through towns and everything in between.

Traction Point's driving model is designed to feel physical and tactile, but simple enough for anyone to enjoy.

Are you transporting cargo? You better drive cautiously and know your vehicle, as the cargo is physically simulated too, and it might fall off if you aren't careful.

We've got everything from nimble scout vehicles to lumbering heavy cargo transporters. Each vehicle feels different to drive and comes with its own set of parameters affecting the engine, gearbox, suspension, differential and more.

Want to try a different approach? Your crew has a few different vehicles, and you are free to switch with your companions at any time. And who knows, maybe you'll find a new vehicle or two as you explore the world...? Just drive up to the vehicle you want and switch to it. As long as it isn't being used by someone else, of course.

The vehicles also differ in their secondary equipment. Some have gripper claws, some have magnetic cranes or gravity distortion devices. This is heavy equipment for serious professionals, and you are the professional. It's up to you to choose the correct tool for the job at hand.

You are not alone. You have you trusty crew along for the ride. Sometimes you have to work together to solve a problem. Want a crew member to do something? Just call them on the radio!

Traction Point takes place on the planet K2-203b, where a mining colony has been established. While far from earth, the planet, referred to as "Dakota" by the colonists, mysteriously resembles earth in many ways.

You are Vet, a driver and member of Cargo Unit 34. Every person visiting or living at the colony has to obey the Archimedes Directive: If the alarm sounds, get off the planet as quickly as possible. The reason for the alarm isn't important, only that you comply immediately.

The physics sandbox mode allows you to experiment and play around in custom levels. Support for mods and user-generated content is planned. More details will be available before the game launches.
