The Naturalist Update

BALL x PIT's final free update is The Naturalist Update, which brings a selection of new balls and passives to your favorite ball-bouncing roguelite, as well as two new characters.

The first new character, The Ballbearer, doubles down on firepower, literally, giving you twice the amount of Ball slots to build an arsenal – at the cost of giving up passive items completely. Then, on the flipside, there's The Hoary Hoarder, who only has room for two Ball slots, but makes up for it with double the amount of passive slots, letting powerful item Evolutions do the heavy lifting.

The Naturalist Update also adds 11 new Balls to the mix. Lightning Bug lights up the battlefield by spawning a firefly with every bounce, seeking out the strongest enemy before zapping nearby targets with a burst of lightning. Drill tears through enemies from behind, piercing straight through them and dealing extra damage along the way. Armageddon calls down a destructive meteor shower the moment it hits an enemy. You'll have to discover the rest yourself.

The Naturalist Update also features 5 new passives, including Platinum Dumbbell, which rewards clean shots, giving your balls a damage boost that lasts until they finally collide with the back wall. Inglorious Hammer keeps the pressure on after a bounce, causing balls that hit a wall or the back of the arena to immediately strike a random enemy for reduced damage. Remote Detonator turns every kill into another explosive opportunity.

THE REGAL UPDATE

BALL x PIT's first major update, The Regal Update, adds a wealth of new content to the game, including new characters, new balls, new passives, and a brand new mode that players have been crying out for since launch.

You can now play as the Falconer, a new character who fires off two balls launched by a pair of birds flanking the screen, giving their attacks a wide, swooping spread. Or take on the role of the Carouser, a medieval royal troublemaker who can twist ball trajectories with a personal gravity field, pulling shots off their usual paths.

A selection of eight powerful new balls includes Fireworks, which burst outward in bright, unpredictable patterns, scattering damage in every direction; the Stone Ball, which hits like a truck on impact but slowly crumbles as it keeps bouncing; and the Landslide, which triggers a cascading wave of debris in front of the first impact point and deals damage that lasts for a few seconds to surrounding enemies.

And then there's Endless Mode, one of BALL x PIT's most requested features. Each level can now be pushed as far as you can handle, continuing indefinitely as long as you manage to stay alive once finishing the boss in that area and agree to continue deeper into the pit.

The Shadow Update

BALL x PIT: The Shadow Update, brings new balls, a new building, new characters, and new passives to your favorite time-devouring, ball-bouncing roguelite.

Get to grips with a brand new character, a miner known as The Tunneller, whose balls can wrap around the screen. They're also joined by another new hero, the ninja-like Tiptoer, who enemies can't detect at the expense of their health and damage.

The Shadow Update also gives you 10+ new balls to play with. The Reaper Ball has a chance to instantly kill an enemy, the Time Ball drops a timesnare that freezes any enemy in the area, the Warp ball warps to a random spot on the field every hit, and the Venom Ball slows and deals damage and can paralyze enemies. But that's all we're willing to reveal here: you'll have to discover the rest yourself.

Equip the new Arrow of Fate passive and projectiles will no longer hurt you, shooting back retaliatory baby balls instead. Or equip the Full Metal Rapier passive, which deals a percentage of damage for each baby ball and enemy on the field. These are just a few of the new passives you'll find in this update.

Back at your base, the new Guildhall building lets you re-roll previously chosen character upgrades.

Discover New Realms

Face legions of diverse enemies within the pit, battling through barren deserts, frozen caverns, savage forests and more. Each region offers its own unique set of hazards on top of hordes of increasingly challenging foes and mighty, screen-filling bosses.

Recruit Fellow Hunters
