About This Game
The album is made with classic synthesizer sounds, a tribute to the soundtracks of the 70s and 80s by Vangelis and Tangerine Dream. The tracks on this album are slightly different from the game, but they are an integral part of the world of DROP and the story that forms the game's background.
Detailed Description
About the genesis of the game's music:
At first, only the accompanying music for the menus and the gameplay was planned for the game, as is customary when creating a game soundtrack. However, as the development progressed, as a story behind the game and a whole world developed, the concept of music also began to transform and adapt to it. Finally, an accompanying album was prepared for the game's world, as if it were the music of a novel or film adaptation. The 13 tracks created this way were structurally transformed to work during the gameplay.
The music was written with electronic instruments, mainly synthesizers. The first sketches were ambient electronic melodies, noises, and harmonies made with modular synthesizers. The part that forms the basis of the final tracks was selected from the experimental recordings, which sometimes lasted several hours. These created rhythmic alternations and strange atmospheres in the background of almost all the tracks. The melodies above them were often improvised, played with several synthesizers, and supplemented with drum machines.
Gergely Buttinger is a composer, writing music mainly for computer games and several electronic music productions.
Previous Works:
Inquisitor: Martyr, published by Games Workshop
King Arthur: Knight's Tale (Neocore Games)
The Van Helsing series (Neocore Games)
