Chicken Invaders Soundtrack (AppID: 2248460)

This is a complete collection of 2dB music from "Chicken Invaders: Revenge of the Yolk", "Chicken Invaders: Ultimate Omelette", "Chicken Invaders: Cluck of the Dark Side", and "Chicken Invaders Universe", including a previously-unheard bonus track titled "Predator Chicken".



When 2dB Music Production were approached by InterAction Studios back in August 2006 to score the music for Chicken Invaders Episode 3 (Revenge of the Yolk), they had no idea how popular the Chicken Invaders series already was, and certainly no idea how massive it would become! Prior to the launch of Episode 4, the series had over 150,000,000 downloads world-wide!

Konstantinos Prouskas (the owner/founder of InterAction studios) delivered a fantastically clear brief. He wanted an orchestral soundtrack that was 'spacey' but thematically strong. Heroic to the point of taking itself too seriously (a parody of great Sci.Fi. soundtracks, reflecting the links within the game to the well-known & loved 'Star Trek' & 'Star Wars' movies).

With keyboards set on 'stun', the main themes were written and developed in the leitmotiv style so beloved & used by John Williams for the Star Wars soundtracks. The result was so well received by InterAction studios and the public, that when Chicken Invaders Episode 4 (Ultimate Omelette) & Chicken Invaders Episode 5 (Cluck of the Dark Side) required their soundtracks, 2dB were the obvious choice.

As Bob Mandel, senior writer for the online magazine “Adrenaline Vault” wrote: "This is the most rousing, energizing, inspirational orchestral game soundtrack I have heard in many a year – in both virtual and real environments, it makes me feel as if I can overcome any obstacle!!!!!!!"

With the online Chicken Invaders Universe under construction, new music was required including a 20th anniversary medley combining the main themes from Chicken Invaders 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5. The new game also needed a menu soundtrack that could shift between 2 quite different moods within a few seconds. 2dB came up with two very different feeling tracks, one exploratory, one heroic but both following the same harmonic structure and tempo. This allowed the soundtrack to quickly change with the player’s environment without the player being upset by a lack of aural inertial dampening!

In 2022, continued development of Chicken Invaders Universe led to more tracks being requested by InterAction Studios & 2dB were only too happy to oblige.

To this end we’ve decided to release this monster quadruple album consisting of the music from Chicken Invaders 3, 4, 5 & Universe (plus a few bonus tracks!). We thank the fans for their endless support & kind words. We hope you enjoy listening to this album as much as we’ve enjoyed working on it.
