Welcome to the Hohenkirchen expansion for OMSI 2, the omnibus simulator!

Experience an exciting journey on one of the eight lines through the picturesque landscape of fictitious southern Thuringia, characterized by rural idylls, village landscapes and mountainous climbs through to urban city flair. The 50-minute main line connects two towns and allows you to experience the different characters of the two main towns of Hohenkirchen and Herrenhof and the contrast between the town centers and the countryside. An express bus route runs largely parallel to this line.

For the more adventurous, there is also a 25-minute line that takes you to a winter sports center. The route climbs over 220 meters and offers a challenging ride through the Thuringian countryside. A shuttle bus then provides a connection to Luisenthal Castle, which is a well-known tourist destination in the region.
Two other lines connect villages, smaller attractions and stations in the surrounding area. It is important to stay on schedule here in order to reach the connections as planned and also to be able to keep to the line changes. There are also two city bus routes within the district town of Hohenkirchen, much to the delight of fans of more urban routes.

Overall, the sophisticated timetable system offers variety and challenges. With line changes, school buses and short-haul buses as well as AI lines that enliven the overall picture, the game remains fun even in the long term. Two depots and company trips offer the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of public transport and to put your skills as a bus driver to the test.

As an additional highlight, this add-on offers an IVECO Urbanway 18 in a modified version with a new printer system and customized appearance. A MAN A20 is available for the solo bus routes, which has also been equipped with the new printer system and an IBIS Plus based on real models.

To make the experience even more realistic, professionally recorded announcements have been integrated to accompany the driver and passengers during the journey. Combined with modern AI cars and a performance-friendly design, this results in a realistic, coherent overall picture that will provide a lot of fun.
