43 tracks and more than 90 minutes of music composed and produced for Dark Envoy, which is mostly a combination of orchestral sounds and electronic music, spiced with original ethnic instruments from around the world.
Asian and African bamboo flutes, Indian Sarangi, Mongolian Morin Chuur, Chinese Banhu, Armenian Duduk, medieval Hurdy Gurdy and many more - all these instruments were recorded live in the studio to create an even more realistic experience.
The principle ‘less is more’ is our motto here. The aesthetic is mostly minimalist. We decided to go with a spacious, ambient approach when it comes to creating musical landscapes. However, you will also hear punchier, sometimes even disturbing sounds that we used to create a matching atmosphere for combat scenes.
If you listen carefully, you can find inspiration from such composers as Sarah Schachner, Lorne Balfe, Jesper Kyd or Greg Dombowski.
