Scioness of House Huo and younger sister to Marquis Huo, Alcyone has been a disciple of the art of war since youth, carrying forward her House's signature affinity with the use of the Zhanmadao, a cavalry-crippling longsaber. Wherever unsheathed, her blade is at once as unfathomable as a dragon's murmur and as terrifying as a tiger's roar, stilling the very grass and trees around with its grim promise. Once an adjutant in her brother's martial campaign to subjugate the northern wastes, Alcyone would personally leap into the heat of battle in the combat accoutrements of a man, piercing and wading through formations, an unassailable rock upon which waves of enemies would hurl themselves and be broken, all by the sheer deadliness of her lone blade -
which would in turn be named "Halcyon", in reference both to her name and to the cold, implacable luster that ebbed and flowed from its edge as it severed bodies and lives, a portent of death that cut into the very marrow.
