About This Game
A first-person survival horror game set in a house that should be empty. Ration scarce ammunition, unlock the house one organ at a time, and survive the thing that keeps the lamps lit. Your father still lives here.
Detailed Description
Your sister called. She said your father is not right, and there is no one else, and please come home. You swore you never would.
The house is lit when you arrive. The lamps are on. A candle is burning in the hall. There are dishes on the kitchen table that someone used recently.
Nobody has lived here for years.
EXPLORE A HOUSE THAT IS STILL KEPT
Someone tends this place. A photograph on the kitchen counter has had a face worn smooth by a thumb. A music box in a child's bedroom has been wound in the last day. A glass of water in your sister's room is full. Every room tells you more about the family that lived here, and none of it is good.
RATION WHAT LITTLE YOU FIND
Ammunition is scarce and it stays scarce. Bitter green herbs pulled from the walls close the smaller wounds. Real medical supplies are rare enough that you will hesitate before spending one.
No encounter in this house requires a kill. A player with an empty gun can survive on movement alone, if they are good enough.
RUN, BECAUSE HE WALKS
The thing hunting you does not sprint. It walks, with one hand dragging along the wall, and the lights fail around it as it comes. Doors do not stop it. It opens them slowly, which is worse. Gunfire does not hurt it. Gunfire only tells it where you are.
For most of this game you will think it is slow.
UNLOCK THE HOUSE ONE ORGAN AT A TIME
An eye. A lung. A brain. Cast-iron keys open a house that was built like a body. Solve your way deeper through rooms that seal behind you, and work out for yourself what the last lock is going to be.
FACE WHAT IS LEFT OF THEM
Six kinds of the reclaimed dead walk this house, and every one of them used to be a person. The freshest still wear the faces they died with. That is the worst part.
A FAMILY HORROR, NOT A MONSTER MOVIE
Built alone over three years in Unreal Engine 5. Three to four hours. One ending, and there is no good version of it. The house asks a single question from the first framed photograph to the last locked door: what do you owe the people you love when they refuse to die?
