Kansai International Airport is the world's first fully reclaimed artificial island airport, which began construction in 1987 and was officially opened to traffic on September 22, 1994.
There are two runways, 3500 meters long and 4000 meters long, which can meet the annual passenger throughput of 33.35 million people. Located on Osaka Bay in the southwest of Osaka Prefecture, Japan, this island is 35 kilometers from the city center of Osaka and 5 kilometers from the nearest coastline. It is a 4F level international airport, the National Center Airport of Japan, a 24-hour international aviation hub, and a gateway airport in western Japan.
