Detailed Description
The Tunnels is a procedural maze environment, where everyone loses except grief
This work reflects on the human cost of conflict.
The information presented is based on real-time data, aiming to show how statistics can obscure the profound grief behind the numbers, and how we always see information through different lenses.
This experience is not intended to entertain, but to provide a space for reflection on the human consequences of conflict, with profound respect for all victims and their families.
There is, however, an end to reach in this hallway.
In this immersive installation, the viewer evolves through a real and defining political space that most people have only seen through news, screens, and social media. A real non-space that can only be the projection of the viewer, and the developer, is constructed to try to make sense of the inhumane.
After the overwhelming labyrinth of contradicting informations we are all constantly subjected to, what can only be the truth is a mirror showing us what remains of our humanity.
The work is free but you can help the work of the UNWRA on their website.
