About This Game
Traverse 879 km through a dark forest, managing your vehicle and resources to complete the journey in 5 in-game hours. No saves, one mistake ends it all. Survive terrifying mutants and a brutal atmosphere.
Detailed Description
Road 879: Five Hours is a dark and intense horror survival experience that throws you into a 547-mile journey through an abandoned forest highway. The entire game plays in real time. Your in-game five hours translate to approximately 2.5 real-world hours. Once the clock starts, there is no pause, no save, and no second chances. If you die, it is over.
Your only companion is your car, and even that demands constant care. You must manage engine oil, radiator water, tire condition, and most critically, fuel. Every stop you make, whether it is a fuel station, an abandoned motel, or a roadside shack, carries the hope of survival and the risk of death. The world is unpredictable. Some of the horrors waiting in the shadows are watching you and learning from your behavior. Your headlights draw attention. Turning them off leaves you vulnerable.
As you progress, you will face terrifying mutants and twisted remnants of humanity. Some creatures stalk you from a distance. Others ambush without warning. The game does not rely on cheap jump scares. Instead, it builds dread through immersive sound design, unpredictable encounters, and disturbing visual storytelling. Gore and violence are deeply woven into the experience. Not for shock value, but as a reflection of a world falling apart.
The radio is your only voice from beyond the forest. Broken signals, old recordings, and cryptic voices gradually reveal a dark past. Hidden areas and small puzzles let you uncover the main story and disturbing side narratives. But the more you learn, the more pressure you feel. Every piece of information raises the tension and forces difficult choices.
Road 879: Five Hours is a single-chance horror survival journey where failure means the end. Reaching the final destination is not guaranteed. But once you start the engine, there is only one way forward.
