Detailed Description
Decodence is an ultra fast paced first person movement shooter set in a Deco-Punk universe. It brings a highly advanced, open ended movement system together with hard to learn, skill based combat mechanics.
The grungy atmosphere takes inspiration from games such as Bioshock, Dishonored, Wolfenstein, and the movie Metropolis.
The game mechanics take inspiration from games such as Titanfall and Rust.
The physics based movement system takes an open ended approach, allowing players to bend its rules, which allows for the discovery and utilization of endless movement tech. This will create interesting, unique and dynamic gameplay.
Movement mechanics will be difficult to master leaving a broad skill gap in gunplay and combat. We will accommodate learning curve issues with a fair skill-based matchmaking system. Weapons will have various levels of skill required to use them proficiently and every weapon will have their own unique characteristics.
Each gun will have a unique, dedicated recoil pattern, rather than a randomized recoil pattern meaning players will be able to learn and eventually predict where their shots will hit. These patterns will vary in difficulty and will be the main determining factor in how difficult a weapon is to use. Although some recoil patterns will be able to be learned fairly quickly, every pattern will be difficult to completely master and players with better mastery of recoil patterns will have an easier time putting shots on target.
