About the Game

Command a castle on the back of a dinosaur and lead it through a world corrupted by the Voidrift.

In this tactical roguelike deckbuilder, you’ll command your castle across a grid-based expanse of interconnected Shards. Rescue corrupted allies known as Kins, each one adds unique cards to your growing deck and joins the battlefield under your command. At the start of every turn, you spend coins to choose which cards enter your hand, then use energy to play them: attack, defend, harvest resources, or shift the tide of battle. Position your castle and Kins, plan your turns, and adapt your strategy as each run unfolds into something new. Most importantly, survive in this tactical roguelike deckbuilder!

Deckbuilding Through Kin Rescue

You don’t just collect cards, you rescue the beings who carry them.

Each corrupted Kin you encounter fights with its own unique abilities and card set. If you defeat a Kin in battle without killing it, you can cleanse its corruption and recruit it to your cause. Once rescued, a Kin becomes a controllable ally on the battlefield, and you choose one of its cards to add to your deck. As you progress through the Expanse, more of that Kin’s cards become available as loot, and additional cards can be earned by completing Shards. Your deck evolves as your team grows, allowing for flexible strategies and deep synergy across runs.

Tactical Card Selection

There is no automatic card draw in Dino Citadel.

At the start of each turn, you’re offered a selection of cards from your deck, but to add any of them to your hand, you must spend coins. You can reroll the offer for new options, or freeze a card to keep it for later. Unbought cards go to your discard pile. Managing your coin economy is as important as managing your deck. Every choice shapes your hand, your tempo, and your long-term survival.

Turn-Based Tactical Combat

Position your castle and Kins across a dynamic grid where every land matters.

Highlands boost Resilience, forests can be harvested or burned, and some lands are poisonous, or tied to objectives. Cards interact directly with the battlefield. Many require careful positioning, with specific range and direction to hit their targets. Some cards build structures, while others stun, root, or damage enemies based on their location. Land and distance shape your decisions. Success depends not just on your cards, but how and where you use them.

Explore the Corrupted Expanse

Journey through a procedurally generated world made of interconnected Shards.

To proceed, you must cleanse the current Shard by completing its objective. Some tasks require defeating corrupted Kins, but others ask you to excavate ancient ruins, collect scattered artifacts, or carry vital relics across the map. When a Shard is cleansed, you are rewarded with new cards to add to your deck, often from the Kins you’ve rescued. You then choose your next Shard from several options, previewing their objectives and lands. Picking the right path based on your current deck and team is key to survival. Each decision brings you closer to the final confrontation with the source of the corruption.

Strategic Resource Management

Every turn is a balance of survival and investment.

You’ll manage Coin, Energy, Production, and Food, each with a distinct role in your journey. Coin is spent to choose which cards enter your hand. Energy is used to play those cards. Production is a resource found in the world, gathered from lands like forests, lakes, and mountains. Even your deck flow is part of the economy. Choosing when to spend, reroll, freeze, or discard cards is not just tactical, it’s resource management. Every decision shapes your strategy, and every action carries a cost.
