About This Game

Detailed Description

LiveTale is a novel game project aiming to bring true collaborative storytelling online. Step into a world that you and your party build as you play. In LiveTale, thereβs no GM; just a sandbox of tools to craft characters, weave their relationships, and spark wild events in real time. Weβre in alpha now, and with your support, we can unlock exciting new milestones and complete this project together.

The modular avatar and costume system lets you design one-of-a-kind heroes who stand out on any adventure. Bring your character to life with built in webcam motion capture and facial tracking on your standard webcam. Raise eyebrows, strike poses, and deliver that perfect dramatic flair. Real-time voice modulation can help both PCs and NPCs speak in-character so you can sound like the brooding rogue or mischievous elf or flirty mama orc.

Build your world with a library full of props, items, buildings, and environments. Each element in your Tale has with unique properties and actions that can be accessed through the game's realtime scripting system. The World Builder mode can be accessed at any time by players to help the stage before your adventure begins, or shape the world on the fly with your party. Whether planning ahead or creating in the moment, world-building is all part of the fun!

Characters naturally spark tensions based on their personalities and charisma. Turn those sparks into one-way or mutual connections - whether as rivals, mentors, or lovers. Use escalating relational consent to offer both natural progression and insure player safety according to what your friend group is okay with. These relationships influence conflicts, emotions, and even trigger new events, making every connection part of the unfolding adventure.

Create dynamic adventures with fully customizable event cards that shape the story in real-time. Event cards trigger encounters, quests, and twists based on player actions and choices. Scripting with cards can access all the functionality of World Builder, character action animations, add new mechanics, and optionally leverage the Regards system for consent-driven card play. With this modular system, every adventure unfolds dynamically, adapting to the unexpected!
