About This Game
Escape imprisonment by delving into the caverns below your cell and exploring until your group reaches the surface in this first-person grid-based dungeon crawler with turn-based combat.
Detailed Description
Your group of adventurers has been imprisoned for life for crimes against The King.
After a few months of digging, you've discovered an opening into a vast underground chamber.
Given the choice between rotting your lives away in a cell and delving the dark and dangerous depths in search of freedom, you've chosen the latter.
Explore labyrinthine caverns and cramped dungeons on your way to the surface (and freedom) in this party-based RPG. Battle dangerous monsters and improve your skills, spells, and equipment in order to survive the deadliest challenges. Unlike the previous game, this one features claustrophobic and liminal spaces rather than an open-air world.
This is a classic retro-style dungeon crawler with many things not typically found in modern games - dice rolling for character stats with no point buy system, random encounters with no monsters visible on the map, little or no hints about what to do or where to go next so that you have to explore and experiment, turn-based combat with no animations, and a written manual that you'll need to read if you want to understand the intricacies of how the game works.
This game introduces two new character classes to the series - the Alchemist who is able to craft potions from found ingredients, and the Psionic whose mental powers add a new dimension to combat strategy.
