About This Game

You're the newest steward of Thoth Observatory, tasked with researching the strange Kerr black hole SJ-1765—the Sejanus Singularity. The data gathered here is invaluable, so maintain the installation and preserve your sanity until your rotation ends in this deteriorating station.

Detailed Description

Intro

You're the steward of Thoth Observatory, a failing research station studying the Sejanus Singularityβ€”humanity's key to FTL communication.

Keep the station operational while managing cascading system failures, performing emergency repairs, and gathering critical data. The station's AI actively abstains from sharing information it thinks you don't need, leaving you to piece together the truth yourself, if you desire that is, after-all priority number one is simply getting through your shift.

Balance routine maintenance against crisis management as equipment degrades faster each day. Every decision matters when you're alone in deep space with deteriorating life support, unstable power systems, and an anomaly that warps reality itself.

Gameplay

The machine intelligence known as HERMES will provide you with a list of tasks to complete each day. These tasks can vary in number and complexity, but some examples of them include but are not limited to.

  • Interacting with a station terminal and either following the instructions or solving a puzzle depending on the task.

  • Utilizing portable tools to scan the station for anomalies.

  • Taking emergency action when a system fails or there is imminent danger of the Black Hole leaking harmful amounts of radiation inside the station.

  • Avoiding potentially hazardous apparitions onboard the station.

  • Maintaining your sanity as the days progress, you are completely alone here after all.

You are essentially a fusion between a research scientist, mechanic, and janitor as the people who build this station could not afford to hire more than one crew member at a time, as such you will be wearing many hats.

Features

  • Dynamic event system: Events will happen, the order in which they do so and which you will even experience are never the same.

  • Atmospheric Horror elements: The station creaks and groans under the pull of the singularity; systems fail randomly, reality itself seems to decay around you. Is this a sign of your own madness, or is there something more to it.

  • Hidden Story: There is a reason why you are here, there is a reason why all these things are happening, few involved in this deep space research endeavor know it and even fewer wish to share it with you.

  • Object Physics: Play with some of the objects scattered around the station; if you want to.

  • Short Playtime: You can easily finish this game on a lunch break, it is a short but concise experience.

  • Free game: This product is and will remain free to play.
