About This Game
An interview with a vampire from a decaying post-Soviet town. A cursed life simulator: scrub floors, brew moonshine, follow strange routines - and drink blood as your sanity unravels. The world is broken. Can you find out why?
Detailed Description
Sucks To Be In The Sticks is a game where the supernatural bleeds into the personal. You play as 19-year-old Ilo, whose life is turned upside down when they become a vampire. Youβll uncover the stories of small, everyday people β the things they wonβt say out loud, or even admit to themselves. Each time you drink human blood or energy, you experience their darkest moments or unlikely dreams through emotional mini-games
As you explore all that your vampire life has to offer, try to hold on to what remains of your humanity: have late-night conversations with your mom while helping her at the flower shop, navigate a childhood friendship strained by your new secret, work odd jobs and spend your earnings on feeding stray cats.
Youβll meet diverse characters too often overlooked in small-town settings β queer people, ethnic minorities, migrants. The game engages with social and political issues through both metaphor and realism: how structures punish autonomy, suppress empathy, and erase resistance. Youβll witness the efforts of local activists, power struggles behind closed doors, and ultimately find your place in this strange, broken world. The game art captures the bleakness and beauty of a dying town that many will find hauntingly familiar. STBITS invites you into the full spectrum of (non)human life β pain, comedy, fear, joy, love. To survive, its characters must laugh at the absurd, sit with their grief, and find hope where none was meant to be.
