About the Game

AlcheMice is an esoteric roguelike deckbuilder where you play as Tycoh, a young alchemist who has been cursed into a time loop. After seeking the help of the witch Gusparda to save the city from a deadly illness, he’s required to sign a flawed contract and choose a power-up and a handicap that, without knowing it, will put him in a time loop with a tarot deck as a weapon. 

Run across the dangerous streets of Gran-Adah and fight against uncanny enemies ranging from rat guards and tetrapod armors during the day, to floating skulls and batpirs at night. The time loop will restart at dawn on the fourth day due to the curse, and with it, only your deck will stay. All alchemical recipes, ingredients, or items will disappear if not stashed inside the vault before the fourth sunrise. 

The goal is simple: survive and obtain the Philosopher’s Stone, a key ingredient for the Elixir of Life, which could save the city from a terrible illness that has spread like wildfire.

There are two types of cards: action cards and motion cards. Action cards let you attack, defend, heal, or change the battlefield. Motion cards help you move around the board, based on how chess pieces move. During battle, use as many cards as your energy lets you, and plan each turn carefully.

Earn new cards from each encounter and evolve them with alchemical artifacts to slay enemies that become more powerful with time. Tailor your deck to your playstyle, customize it with hundreds of cards, and combine offensive, defensive, tactical, and alchemical effects to create unique synergies. 

Deploy your best tactics on multi-level grid-based dungeons depicting Gran-Adah’s mystical locations filled with curious visitors, decoration elements, and shifting foes. Take advantage of the space and its elements to protect yourself and destroy enemies in the most creative ways. Terrain isn’t just scenery, it’s part of the fight! 

When the night comes, the dungeons will shift, and a new type of enemy will appear. Rewards might appear when throwing vases if in luck, after slaying night-comers, and by cleaning a dungeon. Choose your loot: gold, new cards, or alchemical resources.

Find and purchase ingredients throughout Gran-Adah, learn new recipes as you progress in the game, or discover them through experimentation! Grind, mix, cook, and brew until satisfied. 

Vials are a fundamental part of developing your deck, thanks to their permanent effects when added to cards. Fire, poison, acid, lightning, or mind-altering effects can be infused, inherently changing how cards act and the risks they carry. 

Don't lose sight of the goal: obtain the Philosopher’s Stone recipe, and process it to end the time loop and save the city.
