When an enemy's poise is broken, your next move will decide their fate: a decisive swing to dispatch them instantly—or a deflection or kick to disarm them without bloodshed. This applies to every enemy and boss—and your choices may impact your path going forward.

Special attacks and responses

Deflection isn't the answer to everything—special attacks require special responses. Hook attacks, projectiles, leaping attacks, and many others will require a specific response, whether it's holding down your guard or catching an incoming swing with your bare hands.

A personal tale of self-worth

You play as Iruruu—a girl from a remote tribe in the Western steppes of imperial China. She's suddenly called upon by the Celestial Court to become a royal consort in the rear palace. Although reluctant to leave behind her quiet and peaceful life in the steppes, she embarks on this mission knowing it will bring great political influence to her tribe.

However, Iruruu quickly learns of the danger of her desirable position, and she's forced to take up arms and defend herself from competing factions seeking to kill and replace her. In this unfamiliar land, she'll question whether she's truly fit to become 'princess' in the court that resides over it.
