The Earth is in ruins after a large asteroid hit it about 10 years ago. You sign up to be an IASA Combat Astronaut to help fix your home world, as well as find a new one. You were assigned to help survey the land and "tame" the planet for human colonization. But, disaster strikes when you and your co-pilot, Xelendra (Xel), land.
Another alien race, the Ackloids, are attempting to colonize the planet for themselves and aren't up for any negotiations. With an attack on the human command ship, the only other human who can help is an injured Xel.
