About This Game

A pausable 2D real-time strategy game where you command Mars' ships in zero-gravity space battles using realistic Newtonian physics. Outmaneuver Earth’s forces with smart positioning, thruster control, and tactical use of cannons, railguns, and torpedoes.

Detailed Description

250 years in the future, Earth and Mars fight over control of the solar system.

As a junior admiral in the Martian Federal Republic's Space Force, you are responsible to lead your ships to victory over the totalitarian forces of Earth. This is a pauseable real time strategy game, where you must use your spaceships to defeat your enemy.

Unlike some popular (unnamed) franchises, which completely ignore the laws of physics at every turn, Combat In the Void faithfully works with real Newtonian physics giving it a sense of realism.

At its core, Combat in the Void seeks to be a game that is both realistic to actual physics and also accessible to players who don't want to spend 50 hours learning how to work with a physics simulation. While the controls are straightforward, they still provide interesting challenges and decisions for the player to make.

  • Torpedoes can fire at long range and deal lots of damage, but can be intercepted by point defense cannons.

  • Railguns fire at targets within medium range at high velocity. However, they are also expensive to run, so only larger ships have them.

  • Cannons serve a dual purpose by intercepting enemy torpedoes and also firing on short-range targets.

A successful commander uses these three primary weapon systems effectively to defeat his opponent. Experience space combat that actually feels realistic!
