About This Game
This is a roguelike game where you explore a dungeon through a word chain. You can move and attack by entering words. Use your vocabulary skills to reach the deepest level of the dungeon!
Detailed Description
Note: This game is currently being developed in Japanese, and English support is undecided at this time.
Word Chain Dungeon is a roguelike game where you explore a dungeon by entering words.
This is a major remake of the free game Kotodama no Meikyu, originally released in 2015.
Basic Rules
The dungeon floor is divided into tiles, each of which can be inscribed with a character. You can move by entering a wordβyour movement distance depends on the number of characters in the word. If you input a word that overlaps with an enemy, you deal damage to them based on the wordβs length. However, if you overwrite a tile that already has a letter, you take damage yourself.
Items
Items you collect can be used by typing their names. The most basic items are food, which restore your fullness when used.
There are also passive items that enhance specific types of words just by being in your inventory, such as "Increased attack power for words starting with 'γ'" or "Recover HP when using constellation names." Make good use of these by thinking carefully about the conditions and synergistic combinations of words.
Other Features
A word list of hundreds of thousands of terms, including proper nouns and neologisms, is planned
Two modes: Normal mode for thoughtful play, and Hard mode where fullness decreases over time
