About This Game
Kagari, a withdrawn child, and Kagami, the robot living in society as their stand-in— Only one will be recognized as the real Kagari. Your role is to gently observe their choices and decisions.
Detailed Description
DoppelTest is a gentle adventure game where you quietly watch over the intertwined lives of a human and a robot for 30 days.
Even if a robot is kinder than you, do you still want to be the one considered “real”?
Meet Kagari, a withdrawn child, and Kagami, the stand-in robot who lives Kagari’s life in their place.
One day, by strange chance, the two are made to face a question: Which of them deserves to be recognized as the real Kagari?
You have 30 days. The one who behaves more like a human will be accepted by society as the true Kagari.
…But neither of them may actually want to be “real.”
This game is far warmer and gentler than its title might suggest.
In this world, there’s no rivalry or deception over who gets to be “real.”
Humans care for robots, and robots care for humans.
The story unfolds in an atmosphere of gentle kindness.
The characters are just as unique as the world itself:
A teacher who can’t scold their robot students,
a maintenance engineer who can’t remember human faces,
and a city hall guide robot who secretly sees Kagami as a rival—
all with personalities you’ll only meet in this universe.
As the player, all you do is decide which tasks—like “go to school” or “spend time with friends”—
to assign to Kagari or Kagami.
Through these tasks, they’ll meet others, discover their own wishes,
and eventually choose whether to become “the real one” or to step aside for the other.
This game doesn’t have flashy effects, gorgeous graphics, or full voice-acted animations.
Instead, you’ll find gentle human and robot characters who will quietly move your heart.
