Detailed Description
The Classic Version of the Game "50 Years"
The game "50 Years" has gone through several iterations. It started as a fully text-based game. Then there was a version with symbols instead of units, similar to old roguelikes. Next came a version with minimalist graphics. After that, there was a version featuring colorful units, buildings, and backgrounds.
50 Years Classic is essentially the version of "50 Years" with minimalist graphics. This version has its own unique vibe, and I think it might appeal to those who enjoy minimalist games. Additionally, it's easier to add new content to this version (for example, new nations). Plus, the game will be free.
A Fast Turn-Based Strategy
"50 Years" was created as an alternative to large and lengthy strategy games. Itβs a strategy you can play in the evening and finish. Or lose quicklyβboth options are quick. In either case, you'll want to play again.
Still a Strategy Game
When I created this game, I wanted to preserve all the emotions I get from playing turn-based strategies. That's why "50 Years" remains a strategy game. Here, you'll make difficult decisions and take risks.
Replayability
Fast matches don't mean you'll get bored quickly. When you lose, you'll want to try again to last longer. When you win, you'll want to play again to do even better. Also, the element of randomness makes decisions less obvious, making replays interesting.
The Opening Matters
The opening is one of the most exciting parts of strategy games. Of course, mistakes early on can have dire consequences and even lead to defeat, but that makes the game more interesting.
