About the Game

“The wind rises… They say that the gaas resembles the raging ocean, but to me it is just like the sky… I guess that during the short winter one can see the gaas in its purest form,” thought Marena Chudskaya.

The visual novel Rattenwalzer is a story about the human willpower that regardless of sufferings and terrors lasting thousands of years has kept its beautiful nature. This visual novel comprehends such matters as the nature of the human and machine mind as a combination of the conscious and subconscious, coming of age and searching for personal happiness, the origin of interpersonal conflicts, hatred and violence, the willpower and strength to stay human even in the darkest of times.

Marena Chudskaya, who calls herself ‘an ever-burning star’, is the main character who accidentally falls into a trap designed for the ‘gods’ of the new world. Standing at the crossway of the past and the present, she gets pulled into a conflict with people… beings…  monsters…, who are ready to do whatever it takes to change the world.
