Each city has a pony you can buy with unique attributes that allow further exploration of the world, or you can create a strong bond with a pony, and they will take you anywhere. But don’t forget that you’re a team and you’ll need to take good care of them to succeed - neglecting your pony could lead to some unruly behavior, such as refusing to cross bridges or stopping randomly.
