About the Game

Inspired by The Indigo Parallel and LSD Dream Emulator, Vapor Strange takes random procedural generation design to the next level. With hundreds of hand crafted assets to pull from, thousands of textures, a massive music library, Vapor Strange aims to be an experience like no other game.

The game loop is simple. Spawn into a generated level, find a weird procedural generated creature or hidden pathway, and get transported to another generated world.



Once a set number of levels are realized you get an ending, the game refreshes with a brand new ruleset and the game starts again with completely different visuals and level design.

The custom soundtracks are chosen from a pool of hundreds of songs which can be altered to fit the level.

During each playthrough you may encounter a permanent altering event that will change something in the ruleset for that entire playthrough. This modifiers could be texture alteration, emissive shaders, music pitch changes, light changes, the spawning of creepy entities, and more. There is also an option to toggle these modifiers once discovered, if desired.



With the retro aesthetics, procedural nature, and thousands of assets to pull from Vapor Strange provides each playthrough with an existential experience that always will be different.
