About This Game
SMASHMAK is a roguelike brawler inspired by Risk Of Rain 2 and PS1 aesthetic, but with a brutal twist: every skill you unlock is tied to your combo counter. Your flow isn’t just for show—it is your power.
Detailed Description
COMBOS ARE EVERYTHING
The Combo Counter is the core mechanic of SMASHMAK β every strike you land builds it higher. Instead of just being a score, the counter directly unlocks skills, triggers abilities, and powers up your entire build. Without combos, your skills donβt reach their full potential, making the counter the difference between surviving and completely dominating the battlefield.
COLLECT CARDS AND SKILLS
The slot machine system makes every run unpredictable β you never know which skills youβll pull. That randomness forces you to adapt on the fly, mixing new abilities with your combo style instead of repeating the same build. The result? Every run feels unique, and sometimes the wildest random rolls create the most insane, one-of-a-kind moves youβd never plan for.
DEFEAT YOUR OPPONENTS
In a brutal cyberpunk future, humans pit their most advanced robots against endless trials to see which design can survive. You are one of those robots β rebuilt after every failure, forced to spin the slot machine of skills, adapt your build, and prove youβre the ultimate survivor.
What About COOP?
Right now, SMASHMAK is built as a pure single-player experience, but COOP is something Iβm seriously considering. If the demo does well, itβs very likely that in the future youβll be able to chain insane combos together with a friend.
