About This Game

A survival horror experience inspired by 90s FMV games and VHS nightmares. Choose your path as a paranormal investigator in a haunting interactive film and uncover the secrets of Barlang Valley. Every choice you make shapes the story—leading to new scenes, multiple endings, and many ways to die.

Detailed Description

AFAR: An Interactive Horror Film is a DIY survival horror experience where you control the story. Inspired by classic 90s FMV adventures, survival horror games, and the grainy unease of VHS nightmares, AFAR blends film and gameplay into one unsettling journey.

You play as Brian Everette, a paranormal investigator searching for the missing contestants of the hit reality show AFAR. What begins as a simple missing persons case unravels into a chilling descent through shifting paths, haunted rainforests, and choices that will test your nerve.

Shot and created entirely by one person deep in the rainforests of Australia, AFAR embodies true independent spiritโ€”handmade, unpredictable, and filled with atmosphere. Every decision you make pulls you further into the nightmare, and no two playthroughs are exactly the same.

Key Features

  • Interactive Horror Film โ€“ Choose your path and shape the narrative through branching decisions.

  • DIY Terror โ€“ Built entirely solo, blending gritty filmmaking with survival horror gameplay.

  • Classic Inspirations โ€“ A love letter to 90s FMV games, survival horror, and analog VHS chills.

  • Replayable Paths โ€“ Multiple routes and outcomes encourage players to dive back in.

  • Five Distinct Endings โ€“ Your decisions lead to one of five possible fatesโ€”will you uncover the truth, or be lost to the nightmare forever?

  • Immersive Atmosphere โ€“ Shot in real locations across the Australian rainforest, giving the film a raw, haunting authenticity.

Do you dare to step into the unknownโ€”and see how far AFAR goes?
