About This Game

CardBoard is a deckbuilder centered around a tabletop board game. Choose from a variety of characters with almost 400 playable card upgrades and battle across dynamic themed boards. No healer required—just a little faith in the cards.

Detailed Description

CardBoard is a mix between a tabletop party games and roguelike deckbuilders. Roll your characters dice, move around the board and use your cards to battle whatever awaits you at the end of each round. Gather some friends or play by yourself and see if you've got what it takes to defeat the ruler of each board on the final round.

*Most of the cards have their own animation that is unique to it's class. Above are just a few of the cards that Johnathan has with animations tried to them.

Everyone can be the character they want, no healer required. Never get locked out of a character because you weren't fast enough. You can preview the starting deck and see which characters your teammates choose before heading out to a board.

In the rare cases you might want to change your class before clicking that big green Begin button. Remember, just because a character started as a tank, doesn't mean he can't carry pick up some healing cards along the way.

Movement around the board is based off the number you roll. Each character has different dice and thus different movement rates. One character to roll a single D20, while another will have to roll two D6. The D20 might allow one to travel the board faster and complete a deck sooner. However, their cards will require more investment and upgrades to reach the same power as someone with slower movement.

Even if you don't pass a shop, doesn't mean you won't get something good just for landing on it. It's one of the spaces in CardBoard that grants different rewards when you land on them. Although red and blue spaces always give or take gold, the amount they give'll go up the more turns you're on a board.

Other tiles have rare chances to give special rewards given you've met other criteria around the board... I'll try not to spoil anything but beware the roots.

There are two shops that can appear on a game board currently. One of them is Jimmee, a reseller with a heart of coal. His card shops only offer singles and packs, and packs are based off the character you picked and could contain any  of your class' cards in the game... good or bad.

There other shop you can find around the boards is Tella, the fortune teller. She will show you the upgrade paths of any card for your class and allow you to choose with path to take... for a price. Upgrading can completely change the way you use a card and allow combos with others.

Have fun with the demo and be on the look out for new classes and boards.
