About This Game

Ludicrum is a ludicrous physics sandbox with zero constraints. Spawn props, create contraptions, destroy objects and fight NPCs with a variety of weapons. Use gadgets to resize, weld, delete, alter...or just blow stuff up. You can break this game in too many ways and nothing can stop you.

Detailed Description

Ludicrum is a no-limits sandbox game designed to give you total freedom to “play god.” There are no goals, missions, requirements, or bloated save files—just an experimental toybox and a few handy powers to help you achieve your desires.

Props

Spawn a wide range of versatile props, some destructible, others functional, all completely interactable, weldable, resizable, and perfectly fling-able!

Weapons

You have a multitude of weapons at your disposal, from basic ones like knives and crowbars to more extreme tools such as missile launchers and even a NUKE—perfect for satisfying the overwhelming urge to destroy everything!

Vehicles

Take a spin in a sports car, ice-cream van, tank, sailboat, or even a nuclear submarine. If you get bored of the built-in vehicles, build your own using a carbody—or perhaps even a rocket? (And maybe add a few thrusters if you want to go fast!)

Gadgets

Ever wanted to do literally anything in a sandbox game, but found yourself limited to “moving objects around”? Say goodbye to that era. In Ludicrum, you can weld, rotate, and freeze objects, resize, retexture, and even control the flow of time using gadgets like the Timebox! If you really want, you can even give objects sentience with the Sentience Ray (although this is… rather cruel).

Gadgets aren’t just handheld devices! You can also use prop-based building gadgets such as thrusters, motors, ropes, turrets, pre-made carbodies (we gave you the freedom and removed the annoying bits), air-blowing fans, and more!

NPCs

Ludicrum currently has 7 key NPCs, including:

  • Humanoids – Fun for ragdolling, throwing objects at, and other unspeakable actions.

  • Zombies – Grunt NPCs for testing your combat skills.

  • Clankers – Robot NPCs that can shoot and follow you, perfect for ranged combat.

  • Seekers – Chaser AI that will follow the player and attempt to kill them (not very smart).

Environments

One of Ludicrum’s best features is that the built-in maps have ZERO loading times. That’s right—not 1 minute, not 30 seconds, not even 10 seconds—instant switching, with all props transferring to the new map. This is achieved with a custom map system developed to maximize gameplay enjoyment and minimize waiting times.

Ludicrum boasts 5 built-in environments as of Version 1:

  • Void – A white, empty canvas. Paint your chaos.

  • Generic Plain – Basic ground and sky, great for open experimentation in a “cleared” environment.

  • Isla Island – A deserted island with a large ocean, perfect for testing Ludicrum’s water physics.

  • Fort Frader – A generic medieval fort in a meadow with trees and a lake, ideal for sandbox nature play.

  • Concentric City – A large, open, yet simple city—perfect for dramatic combat, pushing NPCs off skyscrapers, or whatever else you desire!
