About This Game

ASHES OF THE BELT is a top-down space shooter built around fast runs, heavy firepower, and satisfying progression—without the usual friction. There’s no inventory management, and you don’t lose your run rewards if you die or decide to end a run early. Jump in, fight, collect, upgrade, and push further each time.

You’ll battle across space and planet surfaces, harvesting resources from dangerous zones while enemies grow stronger the longer you survive. Your goal is simple: build a loadout that feels powerful, adapt to escalating threats, and take on boss fights that demand more than just raw damage.

Voiced Companions (2 Unique Specialists)

Bring one of two fully voiced companions into your runs—each with a clear identity and upgrade path:

Valkyra — Rockets Specialist (Fun Companion)

Weapons (8 Distinct Playstyles)

Talent System (14 Talents per Weapon)

Every weapon comes with 14 talents, allowing deep specialization. Instead of one “correct” upgrade path, you can shape your loadout around what you enjoy—more speed, more impact, more utility, or more raw damage. The talent system is made to scale over time and keep runs feeling fresh.

Abilities (6 Unique Abilities)

On top of your weapon and companion, you can unlock 6 unique abilities. These add extra layers to combat—mobility, timing windows, survival tools, and offensive options that can turn a bad situation into a winning run. Mixing abilities with talents is where builds start to feel truly personal.

Maps & Encounters (4 Maps)

Fight across 4 different maps, each with its own enemy presence and resource flow. Different asteroid layouts and threats change how you position, how you farm, and how you commit to fights. Runs aren’t just about damage—they’re about knowing when to collect, when to push, and when to escape.

Boss Battles & Scaling Difficulty

As you progress, enemies and bosses scale to keep the challenge meaningful. Boss fights are designed as real tests of your build: can you sustain damage, control space, and survive long enough to finish the job? The deeper you go, the more your decisions matter.

Unlimited Upgrade Shop

Progress doesn’t stop after a handful of upgrades. The Unlimited Upgrades Shop lets you keep investing into your power and experiment with different directions. Keep refining your build, push new combinations, and see how far you can take a weapon/companion setup.

Flipper-Style Resource Refining

Refining resources isn’t a boring menu—it's a flipper-style refining system that turns processing into something active and satisfying. It adds a unique rhythm to the loop: fight, collect, refine, upgrade, repeat—always moving forward.

Optional Risk: Rift Gate Run Multipliers

Want higher stakes? The Rift Gate lets you activate optional run multipliers to increase intensity. It’s there when you want to push yourself—without forcing that pressure on every run.
