Qadesh 1274 BC recounts the war waged between the two powers of the ancient Bronze Age: the famous Egyptian empire of Pharaoh Ramses II and the powerful Hittite empire of King Muwattali, located in Anatolia. Their common goal is to seize the coasts of the Near East (Judea, Syria, Phoenicia) and to defeat the opposing army and its allies.
Qadesh 1274 BC is played over 16 turns, each representing approximately 6 months (8 years), from 1277 to 1269 BC. It is designed for 2 players: Egyptians versus Hittites, in the Near East.
The forces of both sides are fairly balanced, consisting of infantry (2,000 to 4,000 men) and chariots (500 war chariots). Each side can benefit from the support of allied troops and mercenaries, recruitable via cards or through the treasury accumulated in the key regions they control.
