WELCOME TO WORK. THE TOILET IS OVER THERE.

The client left the keys, a task list, and disappeared. Paid per job: finish it, get paid. Don't finish, get nothing.

Your bowels came to work with you.

You start the shift. Cleaning, mopping, assembling furniture, putting up walls. Simple work.

Thirty seconds later you feel the first twinge.

You drop the screwdriver and run.

THREE BARS, ONE DISASTER

Water drops. Pressure builds. Sanity holds it all together until something goes wrong.

Neglect one and it hits the others. We won't tell you how. You'll find out.

SOMEONE ELSE'S FLAT, SOMEONE ELSE'S SUPPLIES

You go through the cupboards like a thief, because you have no choice. You find tea, two unlabeled pills, and something that used to be cola.

You check the date. It's expired.

You drink it and hope for the best, because there's nothing else.

WATER IS EVERYTHING

The tap works until building management shuts it off. And they will.

Then you're left with whatever you poured into bottles. Or the toilet cistern, if things get that bad.

Boiling helps. If there's power.

TWO HANDS, NO MENU

No inventory. No crafting tree. No recipe list.

You pick up two things and see if anything comes of it.

Sometimes it does. Sometimes something else does.

THE JOB NEEDS TOOLS

You can't mop without a mop and a bucket. You can't sweep without a broom and a dustpan, and then there's a bag to carry out to the bin.

You can't put up a wall without boards, beams and cement.

Bulbs burn out and it gets dark. A new one is in a cupboard or in the shop. Reaching the ceiling takes a ladder, and a ladder isn't always lying around.

THE PHONE WORKS BOTH WAYS

You order, you pay for delivery, you wait. You buy upgrades for this one shift: bladder, kidneys, work experience.

The money doesn't carry over. You're broke, not an investor. What you earn on a shift, you spend on that shift.

But the phone also rings.

Sometimes it's management with a warning. Sometimes it's a cold caller who won't quit until you shake him off. Sometimes management dials the wrong number.

A SHIFT IS NEVER QUIET

The lights go out. The water goes. Your hands get slippery and everything hits the floor.

Or you just draw the night shift.

YOU CRAPPED YOURSELF. IT'S JUST A NUMBER IN THE STATS.

There's no winning here. There's a shift to get through and points that stay with you even when your sanity gives out and you've simply had enough.

Points unlock new things. New items, new buffs, new ways for a shift to fall apart.

In Toiletocalypse mode, unlocks are pure RNG: you spin, one thing comes out, you take what you're given. In roguelike mode you get cards and choose yourself.

Next time will be different. Not necessarily better.

IF WINDOWS BLOCKS THE GAME

The game isn't signed with a publisher certificate. It's made by one person after hours and there's no budget for it.

Because of that, Windows Smart App Control or your antivirus may flag the file as unknown and block it from starting. It's a false positive. It doesn't matter whether the game is compiled in VM or YYC, this affects any unsigned file. The same thing happens to most games made by small developers. It's easy to look up.

What to do:

add an exclusion for the game folder in your antivirus

or turn off Smart App Control (Windows Security, App & browser control)

I'll buy a certificate once the game pays for itself. That'll fix it for good.
