A pocket watch was never an accessory. It was something handed down — wound by hand, kept on a chain, opened when you needed to know the hour. This pack puts eight of them on your desktop, keeping real time behind every window you have open: engraved cases, gear trains left in plain view, and the little bow at the top that the chain used to hang from.

How it lives on the desktop

• The second hand sweeps. It glides the way a mechanical movement does, instead of ticking once a second.

• Any size you like. Scale it freely, from a small watch in the corner to something that fills half the desktop. The artwork is drawn at high resolution, so it stays sharp all the way up.

• Transparency from 30% to fully solid. Sink it into the wallpaper, or let it hold the whole desk.

• It sits at the very back. No taskbar entry, no Alt-Tab clutter, and clicking it never steals focus from whatever you are typing in. Works across multiple monitors.

• It costs you almost nothing. Under 1% CPU and under 80 MB of memory in normal use — DeskForge measures itself and shows you those numbers in its own menu.

Or let all eight take turns

Pick the faces you actually like and the clock rotates through them on its own — anywhere from once a minute to once every 24 hours, half an hour by default, in order or shuffled. Eight faces make for a long rotation, and it only ever draws from faces you already own, so what comes round is your collection rather than a catalogue of things you cannot have.

Cased and bowed — which is why no strap fits

These are true pocket watches: a round case, a bow at the top, and a movement laid open beneath the skeleton dial. They were made to hang from a chain and live in a waistcoat pocket, never to be buckled onto a wrist — so there is simply nowhere on them for a strap to go. The separate Watch Strap Pack has no effect on this pack. If straps are what you want, they belong with the wristwatch packs — dress, pilot, diver and sport. Here the engraved case is the finished object; nothing needs to be added to it.
