About This Game

Pixie is a desktop pet that mirrors your face through your webcam in real time, in pixel art or hand-drawn ink. It obeys hand gestures, plays rock-paper-scissors, chats back and can be your face on stream. Twelve characters with their own voices, and all vision runs locally.

Detailed Description

Your desktop just adopted a pet — and it's copying your face.

Pixie is a crew of 12 tiny pixel companions that live on top of your windows. Turn your head, blink, talk, smirk — your pet mirrors you live through your webcam. Not a filter, not a video effect: a little creature with its own life, sitting at the bottom of your screen.

IT MIRRORS YOU, LIVE

Head direction, eye blinks, mouth, smiles, a raised eyebrow, even a frown — 🤨 right back at you. Powered by on-device vision that never touches the internet.

IT TALKS WITH ITS PAWS

✌️ makes it dance, ☝️ drags it around the screen, ✊ a closed fist sends it to sleep, 🖐 an open palm wakes it up. Give it a 👍 and it purrs; a 👎 and it sulks. Smart filtering keeps everyday hand movement from setting it off.

IT PLAYS ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS

Pump your fist three times and the game is on: a 3-2-1 countdown, then throw. Your pet reads your hand through the webcam, holds up its own pick on a little card and keeps score. It picks before you throw, so it can't cheat — and it gloats when it wins and sulks when it loses.

IT REACTS TO SOUND

A sudden clap or bang startles it; everyday talking doesn't. It is a little dramatic about this.

IT CHATS BACK — AND REMEMBERS YOU

Just open the chat window and talk — the language model ships inside Pixie, so there is no key to get, no account to make and no setup at all. Every character answers in its own personality. Optional local memory means your pet remembers your name, your jokes and your late-night sessions. All of it stays on your machine.

TYPE IT, AND IT DOES IT

Prefer the keyboard? Over twenty slash commands live in the chat window — /dance, /sleep, /rps, /theme pen, /size big, /camera off and more; /help lists them all. Type @dragon and the dragon takes over the conversation: @ works with every character and every theme, in your own language.

DRAWN TWO WAYS

Classic pixel art, or a hand-drawn pen style with a lively, wobbly ink line. Every character comes in both — switch any time in settings or with /theme.

TWELVE CHARACTERS, TWENTY-FOUR LOOKS, TWELVE VOICES

Cat, dog, rabbit, panda, hamster, penguin, fox, owl, ghost, dragon, robot and slime — each with two themes and its own voice: the cat meows, the dog woofs, the robot beeps, the slime… bloops. The chat window recolours itself to match whoever you pick. Everything is included; there is nothing to unlock. (Sounds can be muted with one click.)

IT HAS A LIFE OF ITS OWN

Moods that shift with the time of day, spontaneous naps (it yawns first), sudden zoomies, and a purr when you click it. Ignore it for long enough and it taps on the glass with a paw — tap, tap.

IT KNOWS WHEN YOU'RE AWAY

Leave your desk and it notices: first it taps on the glass to check if you're still there, then it curls up for a nap. Come back and it wakes up, thrilled to see you. Then it stays up for a while to keep you company.

IT MAKES ITSELF AT HOME

Three sizes. Starts with Windows if you want it to. Lives in the system tray with one-click toggles for the camera and cursor following. No webcam, or camera switched off? It still trots along beside your mouse cursor, chats and obeys every command. The interface speaks ten languages. It's light on your PC, too: at rest it uses only a few percent of the CPU, even on a 2012 dual-core, and the chat model naps when you're not talking to it.

PRIVACY IS THE ARCHITECTURE, NOT A FEATURE

Every camera and microphone frame is processed on your own computer by on-device models. No footage, no audio and no images ever leave your PC. Neither does anything you type: the chat runs on a model that lives inside Pixie. It makes no network requests at all — you can unplug the internet and your pet will still talk to you. Even the stream overlay runs only inside your own computer.

MADE FOR STREAMERS

Stream without showing your face: Pixie can be your face on stream. Add the stream overlay as a Browser Source in OBS or any streaming app that has one — transparent and sharp at any size. Or open the stream window on a green, blue, paper or dark background for window capture or a video call. Turn on mouth movement from your microphone and your pet talks along with you, even with the camera off. On stream it stays in place and won't doze off while you talk. Only the pet's pose goes to the overlay — never your camera image or your voice.
