Key West aviation history begins with a 1913 flight to Cuba by Augustin Parla. Key West`s airport opened with one terminal in 1957.
In February of 2009 a new 30000 square foot terminal opened, doubling the size of the airport.
Key West International Airport covers 255 acres and has one asphalt runway(9/27).
In 2006 the airport had 94,408 aircraft operations, average 258/day.
